Whenever I hear US and
Russia, the next thing I expect to hear is provocation and retaliation because
that's the way it has always been.
In 2008, Georgia
desperately wanted to go western and requested to be a member of the North
Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), the US was considering this request when
in fact they were warned by other NATO members that this would be an
unnecessary provocation to Russia as the Kremlin would not have it's close
neighbors being Military allies with the United State because it will give
Washington the free passage to lither the Georgian Sea with USS navy destroyers
and carriers which in fact makes a US invasion of Russia relatively easy. Not
to talk of the economic impact it'd have on Russia as the oil pipelines that
ran from Georgia to Europe more or less makes the Russian and Middle East
pipelines useless if the United States should gain control of them. Then in
retaliation to this provocation, Russian made up a few excuses and launched a
full scale military invasion on Georgia and almost took the whole of Georgia
within five days.
Since October 2011,
Russia as a permanent member of the UN security council quickly took to the
opposing side of the US and other Western countries sponsored draft resolutions
in the UN Security Council that were designed to demand resignation of Syrian
president Bashar al-Assad and open the possibility of U.N. sanctions against its
government instead of agreeing with the West and went on to support Syrian
Government of Assad since 2015 with military aid and direct military
involvement which is the first armed conflict Russia has entered outside its
borders of the Soviet Union since after the cold war.
On the November of
2015 after a Turkish Airforce F-16 fighter jet shot down a Russian Sukhoi
Su-24M attack
aircraft near the Syria–Turkey border just after 17 seconds
in the Turkey airspace claiming they warned the aircraft not to enter Turkish
Airspace 10 times in 5minutes, the US quickly backed Turkey as a member of NATO
and warned that any military action against one of its member state is a
provocation to the whole member states. And barely a year after this incident,
a coup aimed at overthrowing President Erdogan of Turkey failed, the suspected
mastermind of the coup Fethullah
Gulen was granted asylum by the United States and refused whatever
demand by Turkey for extradition which made Turkey threaten to severe ties with
the United States and in no distant time, Erdogan was shaking hands with Putin
of Russia showing Russia willingness to embrace any enemy of America even if
they downed their aircraft some six months ago.
And finally, analysts have always held that the
recent drop of oil price was due to the deliberate injection of surplus into
the oil market by the US with the sole aim of bringing Russia’s economy down to
its knees as it’s majorly dependent on oil.
I have only listed a few events from the time Putin took over the helm of affairs in Moscow, and even with changing administrations in Washington, nothing of note changed as regards the White house relationship with the Kremlin except that now, US elected a perfect CEO and he managed to broker a deal with the devil.

My point is, the US and Russia have never been
friends, at least since my time and I never foresaw them being friends anytime
soon. Then Trump surprisingly emerged victor in the last US general elections
amidst rumors that the process was rigged by Russia in favor of the then president
elect. The thought alone was absurd as the thought of Russia hacking and
rigging the US general elections didn’t just add up. Even if they did, why Trump?
an arrogant pompous Trump instead of the democrat Clinton who’d have most likely
continued in the footstep of Obama’s use of diplomacy instead of force which has
so far made Russia appear stronger than the US on the international front.
You can now understand why it raises eyebrows
that America and Russia suddenly became friends less than a year into the Trumps
administration to the extent that he shares classified intel on terror with the
Kremlin. Not to mention the fact the he fired the FBI director investigating
the said involvement of Russia in the past elections after allegedly asking him
to drop the investigation, then refusing the public’s cry for a special
prosecutor and going ahead to appoint who I can’t help but think is a puppet
for his purpose of obstructing justice.
The only
thing now hindering a motion for the impeachment of the president in congress based
on the grounds of obstruction of justice is a Republican controlled congress.
Had it been Democrat controlled, the story would have been so different, notwithstanding,
the Republicans can only protect the president as long as they can
until he finds an irreparable way to screw everything up.
Trump is a perfect CEO and he is mistaking the
white house for a company.

Exactly, lets hope he faces reality at once
